Spotlight: Le Chateau de Frenche Day Spa & Private Tea Room
I’m not sure what I was thinking when I decided to do that headstand, back flip thing I made up. Nonetheless, the result was a crick in my neck that just would not alleviate itself. It was time to get some professional help.
It was Saturday morning, and I lived with this literal pain in the [...]

New Fave Mural: Chained Man
I spotted a new mural on Throop between Quincy and Gates. There is a ghostly hooded figure at the bottom left that unfortunately was blocked at the time I took the photo. It is on the side of the C-Town and I wonder how long has that been there? If it has [...]

In The Changeling’s last comment of the previous post, Women Build 2007: Building Affordable Homes on Halsey and Marcus Garvey, I researched Habitat for Humanity’s other Bed-Stuy projects. Habitat for Humanity started building homes in Bed-Stuy in 2000, spearheaded by Jimmy Carter. I found a few photos of existing Habitat homes, and thought [...]

Project Re-Generation Gives Its “Foot Soldiers” Their Marching Orders
While web surfing and seeking Bed-Stuy related events, I came across Project Re-Generation‘s website. Project Re-Generation (“PR-G”) is a non-profit organization with a very clear mission: the elimination of teen idleness. Barnabus Shakur, the founder of PR-G, created the organization after a very close friend, who was a member of the Bloods [...]
