NEW TEA/COFFEE CAFE!

Postby jsmom on Mon Oct 20, 2008 10:17 pm

Just wanted to let everyone know about a great new place on Howard Ave. between Decatur and MacDonough, called Victoria's Tea Room. Victoria is a gracious and welcoming woman, her place has a very nice, low-key East Village vibe, and she sells delicious teas, organic coffees, juices, pastries, and homemade desserts (the peach cobbler is to die for!). She says soups are coming soon. She's got free wi-fi and the place is cosy with two comfy sofas and a number of tables and chairs. Finally, a cool cafe in this part of the Stuy. It's practically next door to the brand-new Stuyvesant Heights Montessori School on MacDonough.

I went by this place the other day- after having closed for a few months, she is re-opening the cafe on the 29th of this month, I believe. I had a lovely chat with Victoria, though she was a little worried about business, since Howard doesn't have as much foot traffic as one would want for a place such as hers. It's definitely going to take some people becoming regulars for it to blow up! I know I'll be going in- it was such a cute place, and free wifi! I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to keep places like this popping up in the neighborhood, so I hope other people will go!
