Music, fashion, food, and fun.  Block parties are a summer pastime in Bed-Stuy.  Block parties and Bed-Stuy go hand in hand.  It says summer is truly here!

Jefferson Avenue Block Party This Saturday

[ August 1, 2009; 12:30 pm; ] This Saturday, August 1st, from 12:30 – 7:30 p.m., join the Jefferson Avenue Block Association “TNT” for their block party celebration honoring the first African-American Assemblyman in Brooklyn, the late Bertram L. Baker.

Block Party Shootout

A Saturday block party that continued into midnight ended suddenly when shots were fired.  One young man was reportedly shot in the leg on Putnam Avenue between Lewis and Stuyvesant Avenues.  Police were looking for suspects at the time.
